Where there is no vision, the people perish. -Proverbs 29:18
The kids were finally asleep. I was browsing jobs on my phone in the hallway. Searching for anything that paid enough. My business was failing. We bought our “forever home” the year before, and now it looked like we may have to sell.
They said, “If you love your work, you’ll never work a day in your life.” Well, I loved my work, but it wasn’t working. The old saying didn’t pan out.
I was told I’d make a great mechanical engineer. I wasted a year of college trying that. It was way off.
I loved music and became a music producer. I worked with artists from around the world, won a Grammy, and then struggled to provide for my family.
Then came software consulting. Great money. But I wasn’t flourishing.
The whole time? I wished someone had given me vocational guidance as a high schooler. I wished I understood my calling.
My parents did their best and encouraged me. But, like many parents and guidance counselors, they didn’t want to steer me wrong so they left me to decide.
Hey! My name is Cody and I’m a calling coach. By calling I mean vocation.
I help high schoolers confidently answer the question: “What should I do?”
And I help parents save tens of thousands on misguided courses, degrees, and certifications by helping their student define their heading. Their North Star.
If you’ve met with guidance counselors and done career assessments but still feel unsure; you haven’t had an “aha” moment. You don’t know your calling.
My framework is simple and it works:
Three 30 minute calls
A little (not much) homework in between
The result: You feel sure of your vocational direction and walk away with a Career Clarity Report detailing your calling in a way that is both well defined and actionable.
If you or your student is lost when it comes to the day after graduation, let’s talk. Book a free consultation call.
Testimonials from Clients:
“Cody, thank you for the time and thought you put into working with Shay and putting together this report. It was clear that you really listened to him and took the time to understand how he thinks and what motivates him. The way you connected his strengths—especially his analytical mindset, problem-solving ability, and interest in building systems—to potential paths like robotics, product design, and software engineering was very helpful for us as parents.” -Shay Sr.
“Kadin said he took more away from your session than his guidance counselor or his high school college career coach ever had to say.” -Wayne
